Have you ever wondered:

Where do Portage Park residents get their groceries? Are they satisfied with their available grocery choices? What kinds of food stores are and are not present in the community? Are there any community members that are overlooked? What could we do to improve the situation? Join us for a workshop and presentation on the results of the largest study of food access ever completed in Portage Park, including store mapping, a study of food prices and availability, and interviews with consumers and store managers. We will have two speakers, Dr. Daniel Block of Chicago State University is an expert in both food systems and map making. he will discuss a mapping of store access in Portage Park. Dr. Noel Chavez of UIC will focus on food prices and availability, plus discuss the results of a series of focus groups focusing on food access that included consumers, store owners and service providers.
